Meet The Founder

Nicola Finn is the founder and lead marketing strategist at Elaborate Marketing. She has been working with well-known, fast-growing global brands as well as smaller start-ups for over 20 years, advising on marketing strategies, delivering campaigns, and sharing results.

Nicola has worked in both digital and traditional marketing since 2000, starting in travel tech with Worldspan, motion pictures with Kodak, and then consumer electronics and broadcast with Dolby. Being a marketer at the cutting edge of global technological innovation has allowed her to see not only the endless product and service possibilities created by technology but also what is possible through new marketing tools.

In the early days of Elaborate Marketing, Nicola worked as a lecturer for the Chartered Institute of Marketing and mentored students for two years. As agency life got busier and the focus shifted towards Elaborate’s global technology PR clients in the entertainment, consumer electronics, edtech, and enterprise spaces, Nicola continued to build her knowledge of the key shows and media networks across those sectors. After all, technology makes the world a smaller place filled with opportunity.

From a more national and local perspective, Elaborate has built a portfolio of brands that it has helped launch into the business world with new logos, websites, apps, and hosting services. It’s a pleasure to apply digital skills to support smaller businesses, and there is a sense of pride in seeing a smaller independent business launch and showcase their skills.

Much of Nicola’s career has been focused on getting platforms and campaigns in place to create brand awareness and drive sales. Now, clients are increasingly talking about communicating values and embedding their corporate mission into their marketing strategy to create a real positive social impact. This opens the door to a whole new world of storytelling opportunities, creating movements for social change using different content and mediums, and taking USPs to a different level. Exciting times!
